Fleet Manager Getting Started Guide
Before installing the software make sure you turn the User Control Account feature off.
In the 'Control Panel', select 'User Accounts'.
Select 'Change User Acount Control Settings'
Turn this feature off, or set it to it's lowest value.
NB: RESTART YOUR COMPUTER - for the changes to take effect.
Download the program from
http://crestsoftware.co.za/Downloads/FleetMan/FleetMan.msi

When prompted, save the file to your computer. The default location
is normally 'My Documents/Downloads'.
When the download is complete, you may be asked if you would
like to run this program (Depending on your browser). Select
Ok or Yes.
If not, navigate to 'My Documents/Downloads' and double click
on FleetMan.msi.
At this point, you may get a security warning, Click 'Run'.
Select the default program setup by clicking 'Next' when prompted.
If you receive an error mesage (Error 1904 ....). Click 'Continue',
The software should now be installed.
The installation path of the software is 'C:\Program Files\Fleetman'
To run the program click 'Start - All Programs - Crest Software
- Fleet Manager - Fleet Manager'.
When the program starts up you will get the warning 'No
Default Database'. Click 'OK'.
On the 'File' menu, click 'Open Database'.
In the 'Database Details' window.
- Put a tick next to 'Create New Database'.
- To select a new file location (eg. On a server) click
'Select Database'.
- Select the new data path from the dropdown list.
- Enter a 'File Name' (eg '2010.ftm')
- Click 'Open'
- Enter your company name.
- Enter the correct 'Year Ending'
- Click the 'New' button.
Your new database should now be installed.
The first thing to do is setup your master tables.
These include:- Vehicle categories
- Cost Centers
- Fuel Types
- Suppliers
- Item Groups
Make sure these items are completed before setting up your vehicles.
Press the 'F1' key in the program to get help
on program navigation and record editing.
